Respectful Shoes: What we do (and don't) do at Pablosky

Because not everything goes. And not everything has to be extreme.

At Pablosky, we’ve been making children's footwear for over 50 years. And in this time, we’ve learned something very simple (and very important): every child is different, every family raises their children as best they can, and every foot needs something different depending on its stage.

Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about barefoot, respectful, or natural footwear.
And we think it’s great that there’s more awareness about foot health.
We share that awareness.
That's why we created a line with flexible soles, zero-drop, wide toe box, and quality materials.
A line that respects natural movement, yes.
But also respects something else: real life.

Because we know that shoes don’t live in a laboratory.
They live at school, in the park, on the kitchen floor.
And children's footwear, in addition to being healthy, must be useful, resistant, and easy to put on.

Is it barefoot? Yes or no?

The short answer: it depends on who you ask.
Some will say yes.
Some will say it’s not enough.

We prefer to say it is respectful footwear with discernment.
Because we don’t follow a trend. We follow experience:

  • From podiatrists we work with.
  • From families who test us daily.
  • And from our own team, who also raise children, run, and get dirty.

What we do:

✔️ Design models with zero-drop and a wide toe box
✔️ Use flexible soles, but with the durability required for everyday use
✔️ Choose natural and breathable materials
✔️ Design each shoe to accompany, not to correct
✔️ Listen to those who raise children, not just those who have an opinion

What we don't do:

Technical extremisms that don't withstand real use
Empty marketing without medical or functional basis
Absolute promises about what is best for everyone
Shoes that last a week because they are very soft

What if someone needs a more structured shoe?

We have that too.
Because not all feet need the same thing.
And that is also respecting.

Ultimately, it's all about trust.

Trust in what we do.
Trust in those who raise children with us.
Trust that there is no single right way to do it.

That's why we create shoes that are ready for many, many things.
And that's why, if you have questions, we'll tell you without filters.

📩 Want to know more? We are here to help you, without pretense.
Because the shoes aren't what's important.
It's the journey you take in them.
